Grade 2: Pen Pals


Description:I have four 2nd grade classes looking for pen pals. They would like to write friendly monthly letters and meet at the end of the school year via video conference. We are located in Central Texas and are hoping to communicate with students in other regions. If you feel like you can complete the requirements, please contact me.

Requirements:
1. Send one letter on the 15th of each month (Dec-March).
2. Send a confirmation e-mail once the letters have been placed in the mail and once you have received your partner's letters.
3. Keep in contact with your partner teacher throughout the project.
4. Meet via video conference in April or May.
5. I will need teacher's name/contact number/e-mail address, video coordinator's name/contact number/e-mail address, school's address and IP number.
6. I will need a class roster broken into girls/boys and their writing ability ranked from highest to lowest (so I can match students appropriately)

Grade K: Country Mice meet City Mice


Description:We are a rural classroom of students who is looking to connect with a kindergarten class in NYC that is willing to be Pen Pals via letter writing as well as through the POLYCOM virtual field trip equipment. This class relationship would be year long, connecting via the virtual field trip periodically throughout the year. We would like to explore the differences in transportation, homes, parks, lifestyles, and possibly different cultural experiences between the students. We have approximately 17 students in our classroom. We are excited at the possibility to share our rural lifestyle with students who are willing to explore similarities and differences with us.
