Grades 5-6: Alternative Energy Project


Description:We are a 4th garde class 10 miles from NYC. We are studying wind farmes and their impact on the environment. We are looking for a New York State school 4th or 5th grade class to conference with about what it is like to live near a wind farm. Would like to conference 2nd or 3rd week in March. We will supply the questions about winds farms and can answer question about our area of NYS. Conference should last about 40-60 minutes.

Grades K-3:Walk Across the USA


Description:Our School will be walking (stepping) across the USA during PE classes uses pedometers. We will be visiting 27 state capitals as we travel from the Atlantic Coast to the Pacific Coast. We would like to find some Partners along the way who would like to share their state and regional information with us, here in Virginia. Specifically, information about your capital. We would be willing to do the same for you.

Grades 3-4: Our Cross-Country Adventure


Description:Our 3rd grade classes are hoping to connect with multiple classrooms across the country. We are currently studying the regions, and seeing as how we live in the Northeast (Pennsylvania), we are hoping to connect with at least one school in the Southeast, the Midwest, the Southwest, and the West.

Methods and Activities:Students will create a presentation about their school, their state, and their region. All content shared should focus on how the area one lives in impacts all aspects of their life.
Responsibilities:Teachers will determine how the students will create the presentations (ie. small groups, individual presentations, etc.)
Agenda:Teachers will test the connections at least 2 hours prior to the videoconference. Teachers will facilitate the sessions.

Grades 9-12: Global Interest


Description:We have 9 students grades 9-12 studying global issues. We have a great deal of flexibility in our curriculum. Consequently we are open to the following idea. Beginning Feb 23, we will have our equipment on every day during class through the end of the school year. We invite you to connect to us any day that is convenient for you to discuss any important issue or topic. Our class meets every day from 11:15-11:50Eastern. No prior arrangement is necessary.

Grade 5: There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom


Description:We are a fifth grade class in Westchester, NY reading There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom as our class read aloud. This a great book to explore themes of friendship and acceptance and we are looking for a class to share our thoughts and perspectives with. We are looking to create life-sized representations of the major characters and have a book talk at the end of this book. We would like to have a connection to introduce ourselves then connect again to share our representations at the end of the book. We are aiming to finish the book by the middle of March and will be ready to connect the last week of March.

Objective of Collaboration We live in a small rural Wyoming community (350 people) and would like to simply network once a month with a middle or high school English classroom. Trying to collaborate times and dates with other classrooms remains difficult, but would like to create a schedule or partnership with another school where we could meet once a month to either discuss community demographics, societal differences, similarities, and possible instructional mini lessons.

Objective of Collaboration I have three 8th grade students who are doing a project on cyber bullying.
