Grades 3-4: Our Cross-Country Adventure


Description:Our 3rd grade classes are hoping to connect with multiple classrooms across the country. We are currently studying the regions, and seeing as how we live in the Northeast (Pennsylvania), we are hoping to connect with at least one school in the Southeast, the Midwest, the Southwest, and the West.

Outcomes:7.2.3.A: Identify the physical characteristics of places and regions.
7.3.3.A: Identify the human characteristics of places and regions using the following criteria:
Population, Culture, Settlement, Economic activities, and Political activities
Methods and Activities:Students will create a presentation about their school, their state, and their region. All content shared should focus on how the area one lives in impacts all aspects of their life.
Responsibilities:Teachers will determine how the students will create the presentations (ie. small groups, individual presentations, etc.)
Agenda:Teachers will test the connections at least 2 hours prior to the videoconference. Teachers will facilitate the sessions.
