Grade 1: ePals

Description:My class of 20 first graders in McMurray, Pennsylvania are looking for a class of first graders (or maybe 2nd graders) to become ePals with us! (We need a class that has close to 20 students)

Here are my ideas for the project:
1. I would create a wikispace for our classes to "unite."
2. Each student would be paired up with a student from the other class.
3. Each "pair" of students would have their own page on the wikispace to communicate back & forth, post pictures, etc.
4. The other students could read all about everyone else's ePals, but they would only be allowed to post to his/her own ePals.

Then, later in the year it may be possible for the whole class to meet via video conference. I plan for this to be an ongoing yearly project. My students would log on weekly to check the pages and write back to their ePals.
