| Description: | We are a girls school in Sydney, Australia and are hoping to connect with a Maths class to do calculations comparing our circumference on the planet. The school would need to be north-south of one another, such as Rockhampton, QLD or another school on the same meridian (ie the same longitude as Sydney). Our Maths teacher wants to link the classes and discuss the activity and then at precisely the same time, both make some outdoor shadow measurements. They would share their information with one another and then be able to perform some calculations leading to determining the circumference of the planet. We have done a worksheet to share for the classes on this. |
